Streering Stabilizers?

I was looking at steering stabilizers as my wrists have problems. They seem to start around $150 for longer cylinder types and go up to $500 for the smaller ones that are round shaped. My question is do they make that much of a difference and are they worth the extra money? I ride mostly wooded trails and jump occasionaly.
the one I was looking at was a HPD type or Precision type.
I now always rid with wrist guards on both sides to help prevent further injury. I work with my hands all day and have not been as carefull as I should have been when beating something into place or twisting things on.

The precision is unquestionably the BEST of them. Mine has been great. I will never ride a quad without a steering stabilizer again, and one of my friends is about to put a Precision on his YFZ after riding mine and comparing it to his denton. This was the first mod I put on my bike when I started XC racing it, and I love it.
