Hey Mongrol, since you have both machines, you would be the person to ask, I noticed on the parts diagrams that the rear control arms and bearing carriers on the 06 Hawkeye are different then those on the 07 Hawkeye and 08 300/400 Sportsman. Are these parts just beefed up a bit or do they actually move the location of the rear wheel!
All of these bikes are listed at the same wheel base but just taking a shot in the dark here thinking Polaris may have added a little tire clearance along the way...

 

Everything seems to be in the same place, things are just beefier.

 

Well that shoots down another theory.

Noticed that the rear bearing carriers are quite a bit heavier.

 

more weight and bigger tires as well of more power im guessing why they beefed up the new 3 and 400 sportsmans.
