it means that polaris doesn't whant to get in trouble because it isn't quite as safe because it has a shorter wheel base and the 2 up has stiffer springs i think. i don't see a prob with 2 people on a normal scrambler and a sportsman is begger and a nice seat and a more confortable ride iv seen 6 people on one sportsman 400 haha and towing a trailor with another 5 .

Thanks for the reply Sprinter10. I understand (and do not expect) that Polaris would do that. Just thought I might order the part & adapt it myself. We do alot of Sunday afternoon rides with family, friends and kids here in realtivly flat northern IN. Most have SP and none of us have a 2up of any kind. (If I could afford it, I'd buy one.) Most ride double & I'm just looking to make it not only more comfortable but safer. I really do not want a big box on the back that is why I have been intersted in a seat. She and many of us have the padded cabela's canvas seat bag on our back racks. A back rest would even do the job. I may just have to settle for the smallest seat box I can find but would prefer a seat with a back rest with no box.

don't they hace those boxes with the back rest built into them while i am righting this now i see a tamarack sponsored ad to teh left of the text with boxes with backrests built in would that work? one eben looks like it has a seat so you would be sitten preety much were the rack is and have back support it looks like its what you want.
