If your compression is under 100psi go ahead and rebuild it with the Wiesco piston and be done with the motor.Change the fluids, adjust all 3 chains and have fun with it.
If you need a manual Clymer makes an excelant one for 1985-1995 Polaris

ok well i think i may have found the problem, even tho i have 90psi compression, i have a broken piston skirt, grrrr, by just lookin threw the reed block i can see it, i ran the piston to tdc and felt my finger around and didnt feel any groves, but now whats in the bottom end, i know this happened just a few days ago, so now im gonna have to do a complete tear down, so what should i be lookin for , bad crank spots, probably gonna have to replace the bearings, maybe even the connecting rod bearing in the crank, none of the will be good, so can anyone give me good news?
thanks all
Jeremy
ps ftwflh, adjust what 3 chains? kinda got me lost there

I though you had a 4x4.They have a mid chain and a front chain.
You need to pull the engine and split the cases to be sure all the piston parts are out.Not a huge job with a manual but you will need a flywheel puller and a counterbalance puller.
