i kind of have the some prob. im only 10 and not very atv smart. the hand throttle will move about 1\8th of an inch and then stop. ive took off the carb to try to diagnose it with no luck. its also stuck at full throttle, so i cant ride it. its a 1985 yamaha yfm200 just in case you need to know

Carb slide can a only go one way,plus check to see if the slide moves up and down with your finger ok. Problem could be in the carb if the bore or slide is worn or the cable needs replacing. Let someone experienced look at it because it's dangerous the way it is.

Thanks old polaris tech. My uncle is a mechanic and he'll be able to look at it. Thanks for your help.
