Dirtwheels put the Screws to Me
#1
I had a real nice pic of my Sport. So I decided to send it to Dirtwheels readers rides, hoping they would print it. I read the rules. They said give a list of mods, and tell us where you ride. I did just that. Well, I got the new issue yesterday, and was reading the letters people send in. I get to one, it said "I like to ride my modified Sport at Wayne National Forest", I thought, hey, cool, I do to. Then I saw it, there was my name, followed by my city. That just chewed my butt. They took one sentence out of my letter and printed it. It sounded like one of those letters you read like, "I ride my Breeze in the backyard when daddy lets me, riding is cool". They totally made me sound like an eight year old. I sent them an email, letting them know I wasn't too pleased.

You guys have all fallen victim to “editorialism.” I was once so upset by a local situation I sent a letter to the editor of our local paper only to have it “abbreviated” before it was published. The resulting “gutted” message didn’t come close to conveying my position on the matter. After that I had two things to be pissed off about.
It’s their right to edit what they publish, for better or worse. About all I can say is isn’t it great to have a forum like this to openly exchange our thoughts and opinions? Let’s enjoy it before some liberal taxes it.

Quadfather, I didn't see your edited letter in the February issue, was it January maybe?. I'd like to see your Sport in there, it's a nice looking quad. I could see where editing your original statements could make it sound completely different. Hope to see the picture in a future issue maybe.
