i i think that is set up the same way as my 400 sport and the startor is under teh engine. I found out that it is easiest to remove the startor by shutting off teh fuel and making shure the fuel cap is on tight and lean it back onto the rear grab bar. then you can get to the lower skid plate. you will have to take off the clutch cover clutches and inner clutch cover off and you will se teh startor at the bottom in front of teh engine. there will be 2 long bolts i don't reamember but i think you need to un screw those. mainly take off the flywheel cover and you will see the startor bottom right. you will have to take the bendex out if is hard sometimes but it will come out without to much effort. and you will see a few bolts around teh shaft from the electric motor take them out. then pull teh motor our from the other side. i will check my shop mauel and make shure i am not missing anything it has been a few years since i have did this on my 400 sport.

Have you had a chance to check your manual on this? I plan on working on it this weekend.

Thanks,

Just looked through my manual, and it doesn't say how to get it out. Just shows how to disassemble and trouble shoot it. If you can send me a PM with your email, I can send you the manual.

i just bought a damn 250 trail blazer yesterday 2000 model. bad battery, starter supp, works, and pull cord retraction broken and cover missing.
let my daughter ride last night for hours, took the air box off found a hole, fixed it and went through the carb, put in a new battery reassembled all of it. started drags and just aint working right. already know i'm gonna have to take it apart to fix it but i still cant pull start it. been through the carb 7 times, can't find a mistake except maybe the two hoses coming out of the carb aren't just air vents for the float bowel. can't find any picturs. i assume the just vent if not please advise. and is there any fuses located anywhere that would keep this damn thing from starting even if its getting spark???

thank,,

Check the compression on the engine, brand new should be 120psi.

Anything less than 90psi - it will not start.

Hope this helps.
