I just need to know how much oil to put in the engine resivoir of my 03 Sportsman 400 4x4 with a new oil filter.I have an owners manual and it doesn't say and I bought a Haynes Repair manual and it doesn't tell either.The last time the dealer serviced it they put in an extra quart.I had to syphon out 32 ounces.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

go to the polarisindustries.com website and you can retrieve the manual there. Just follow your nose. I don't know about your model but my 04, 500 held half a quart when I changed the filter. The manual will tell you what to do.......its a pain in the ***.

I just changed mine and it takes 2 quarts with a filter change. I think the 425 Sportsman has the same sized crank case and oil tank as the 500s.

That's what I was going to say. I just saw it in my 500 manual a couple days ago. It's basically the same engine except the cc.
