500 HO -wet belt

Default 500 HO -wet belt

Does anyone know where the water would be getting into my PVT housing....Was using it as a submarine and when i came out of it the belt wouldn't catch in high gear...would catch enough to move in low....HELP!!!

3 ways. thru the air vent up by the gas tank. bypassing the clutch cover gasket or by the rear seal behind the clutch cover. if you were over your seat then it came in from the clutch vent.

could also come in from your rope start if not seated well

if you take off the left side panel you'll see the inlet to the clutch housing so if you were in water that high you better either bye a boat or plan on snorkling it.

Agree, it came in that really big hole called the belt housing vent!!

The guys here who want to run deeper water, put a snorkel kit on their machines (purchased or home made). The kit extends all vents, including the belt housing vent, much higher than the factory setup.
