Brought my service manual with me today. When things settle down a bit, I'll post the procedure for testing the thermistor. I'd suspect that to be the problem.

Hopefully, I can just find a scanner here and post the pages.

 

do yall happen to know how hot the outside of the engine block would be with an infa red laser temp gun?

 

Sorry for not posting the info yesterday.

Between having to take a family member to the hospital and IT here at work having the copier/scanner blocked from my email, I didn't get it done.

If it looks like they aren't going to get an actual human being somewhere in the United States to get this cleared up this moring, I'll just give you the step by step.

The manual has the wiring diagram and what the temp/resistance should be.

Element7878, as you might have guessed, I'm not a computer genius. I did manage to get the scanner to work with my email.

If you PM me your email address, I send the 2 pages out of the manual that cover the thermistor testing.

thanks for everyones help. It ended up being a bad thermister switch the was keeping my light on. I got it fixed and everything is working great!
