Default sportsman 500 vs 600

what is the better quad and what one has better torque?
I would think it would be the 500
both have 500 miles, winchs, and are $3500
the 600 is a 04 the 500 is a 03

600

500

According to Polaris literature, the 600 has 25% more torque than the 500 H.O., but only 8% more horsepower. I don't know which one is "better" but I would rather have a 600 than a 500 for about the same price, ANY DAY.

They're both the same size except the engine.

The 600 twins I've seen on the trail have been nice machines. Their owners seemed to be happy with them. I'd go for the 600.....the twins are very nice sounding and very smooth.

every 600 around here is a pain to get running right, cold blooded, and really boggy, we have to go up a couple jet sizes to do anything, i personally think the 500 is the best machine polaris has ever built as far as reliability and power wise, they are still very adequate, never saw one run out of power

Well I can vouch for a coupple of things that have been said, YES the 600 is cold very blooded and yes the 600 is allot smoother and torquier than a 500.

I love my 600 and the only way I would even consider a 500 is if it were EFI!!!! Other than the my Popo being cold blooded it has been flawless!!!
