I've had EBS about as long as they've made it. Mine have never clunked or locked up the wheels. I love EBS.

Any ideas as to what would cause mine to clunk while going down hill? It is smooth slowing the quad down on a level surface, but on a hill and even on not so steep ones it will make this clunking noise like it is locking up the driveline.

The hill I went down last weekend was VERY steep...scarey steep! Of course I HAD to follow my son, he is 16 and has NO fear, I mean Dad CAN'T wuss out can he? The rear wheels locked up everytime the clunking noise was made. On that hill I was riding the rear brake slightly, not enough to lock up the rear wheels though.

Should the EBS be as smooth going downhill as it is slowing me down on level ground?

It always worked smooth for me, whether coasting up to a stop sign or going down a steep hill. I hardly ever needed the brakes going down hill either. I usually have to give it some gas. I wonder if there's a problem somewhere else in the driveline.

Well....I guess I'll have to call the dealer about this. BTW, it has done this ever since I bought it.

I have to agree with Jumbo on this one...I have never had this on either of our bikes and they are both quite smooth on and off throttle.
If you are getting a clunking sound and the rears lock up it would make me think there is a problem some where in the rear driveline...it could actually be in the gearbox or rear dif...
