SP800 belt smell

Default SP800 belt smell

When I'm at WOT on my 07 SP800 I get wiffs of burning belt rubber.... What's up with that, is this common??

i dont believe so. i wot my scram500 abit + with my educated nose i'm sure i would have noticed.you need to open your cover + inspect even tho its not that old maybe your belt is shredding or moisture.been in water??

Default SP800 belt smell

I have not noticed any burning belt smell from my machine and it has been WOT for short burts on several occasions, although I haven't topped it out speed wise.

Held mine wide open for a few miles and have never smelled anything.

if your sure its burning belt your smelling, then you want to take off the clutch cover to see whats going on as it is not normal.

Possibly hot plastic? These have a history of melting plastic but you wouldn't think it @ WOT.

The 08's arn't suppose to melt anything with that upgraded heat shield.

theres a big differnce(to me anyways) between the smells of burning belt and burnt plastic. just suprised theres noissues w/ it at slow speeds of when working it.
