Default Reverse Override

My 2000 Sportsman 500 has a broken speedometer. After doing a search on this site(fantastic site} I learned why my 4x4 doesn't work any longer. But I didn't find out if it affects the reverse over-ride. Mine does not work.
I guess I'm looking for alittle assurance that a new speedometer will fix both problems before I lay out 300 dollars. Thanks Eddie B

Default Reverse Override

what does your overrdie do? if you push it it doesnt allow it to go into awd,go fast in reverse? theres a switch on the transmission that effects the override as well as it tells it what gear your in. just an idear.
