Post-Wash Backup problems
#1
Well ive got my 96 TB 250 and whenever i was it and let it dry to almost compeltely dry if i try to back up even while holding the Override button when i get up to like 3 mph it will drown out like im not holding the OR button. After i let it set overnight it will backup fine. This is the second time its done this. Not really a big problem jsut curious to what causes it and what its doing.

unplug the black wire on the rev limiter. no more override button needed and gets rid of the problem. more than likely water is getting into a connector somewhere. you could take the connectors apart and spray with contact cleaner then spray with dielectric grease to waterproof them

so if i disconnect it, it wont do anything except make it to where i dont need to push the button when backing up?
cause i got a problem with using that button. i have to have someone else hold my drink

thats right. unplug the black wire and no need for an override button. they generally end up going bad anyways.

My reverse override switch has a leak in it somewhere. If I wash it or get it extremely wet and I press the override button it dies. Once it dries out for a bit then it's fine. After I wash it I have to drive it down the road a bit at high speed to dry it out. Being a gravel road it doesn't do much for the new washjob of course.

I've never had a single problem with a rev overide button. None of my friends have either. They don't just "generally end up going bad" IMO, and I store my ATV outdoors year-round. If you pressure wash it, against Polaris' instructions, all bets are off.
