Has anyone had any problems with the stator on their polaris atv? I had troubles with my bike stalling and backfiring. Some days it would be fine. It finally would not start one day and the dealer found the problem was my stator. They replaced this and it is fine now. I was just wondering if this is a common problem. This is an expensive part to replace but I was fortunate that it was covered under my warranty. My bike is a 2006 Sportsman 500 X2. I have had it for a year and a half and has been great up untill now. I plowed my yard all last winter and not no trouble. I am new to this sport so I might sound green.

 

NOT COMMON for a newer model such as yours! My stator repairs are mainly 96-2002 models that have been usually ridden hard and put up wet! With electrical anything possible! Enjoy your machine,probably wont have any more problems if you do regular maintenance. Glad it was under warranty! Good luck
