polaris 02 Sportsman Belt
#1
Hi,
I have a 2002 Polaris sportsman 500 4x4 H.O. and Broke 2 belts a few months ago. I took to the shop and they said my clutch was bad and they changed and with in 5 miles the belt seamed to stretch. I took it back and now with in 10 miles it has done it again. could some thing else be causing this?
any help would be appreciated!

i would check the clutch alignments and spacing. i believe that from center to center of the bolts that hold the clutches on should be 10 1/2" apart
if you take a straight edge and span it across the back side of the drive and the back side of the driven clutch there should be a small 1/8 - 1/4" gap on on the front edge of the driven clutch and it should touch the rear edge of the driven clutch
