Moose RM3, Polaris Glacier 1 or Polaris Glacier 2?

Lt CHEG,
Check out the pictures on MY PAGE. I have one of the plow lifted all the way up. It should be plenty high enough to be able to back into a pickup.
Good luck!

Rancher55 what width is that blade?
I had that blade on my 800 when I first got the quad.
I found it wasn't wide enough to keep snow out from under the wheels especially when it was angled.
I changed mine for a 60" glacier 2 razor blade. It is very nice, but also it doesn't seem to raise the edge as high as the narrower blade. Might be just a perception but when I went back for a change they definitely swapped the entire plow package. I only kept the mount.
I like the G2 razor blade a lot better, pushed a ton of deep snow and never had it spillin over the top or out under the wheels.
No snow yet (Soon) but I need to do some scraping and roll a compost pile before winter snow. I'll put my blade on and takes some pics if I remember.
Later this weekend.

No doubt, the glacier 2 or Moose RM3 setups will suit my ground clearance needs. That plow lifts very high.
Though I worry that the glacier 1 is more robust, I think the convenience associated with the glacier 2 may win out. I will likely go with the Moose RM3 setup as I like the look of the Moose plow better and the dealer is probably more likely to handle any warranty issues for me in a more positive fashion than trying to get warranty work through a local polaris dealer that I did not purchase the plow or ATV from. I don't plan on switching trucks any time soon and I really don't plan on trailering the ATV 3 or 4 miles from one location to the other in the snow when I can just use my pickup. So unless someone thinks the glacier 1 setup is so much better that it would be worth taking the plow off and storing it in the cab from one location to other, it looks like I'll be ordering a Moose RM3 setup. Thanks to everyone for their help and patience. I'll post a review once I get everything set up. Oh, and I'll keep your contact info handy mtpockets if I run into problems with the mounting plate needing reinforcement. Thanks again guys.

Hey BigBros_FarmToys,
It is only a 48" plow blade. I'm thinking of trading it in for a 60" blade.
The 48" was a gift so I did'nt want to complain about it but I think it's too narrow too!
Take care!

Just installed the new RM3 60" county on a 07 sp 500 yesterday. Can't get it lifted of the ground very high with that bar they supply to hook the winch hook to. Has anyone tried anything else to get it to lift higher? The cable stop sucks into the winch before I can get the plow high enough to clear when I have it angled. It has a polaris 2500# winch on it.
Otherwise I like the setup, ease of mounting, and heft of the system.
Thanks

I just ordered up the Moose RM3 setup myself yesterday. It should be here next week. Now I just need my winch to come in from cheapcycleparts and I'll be just about set. I've got the rack extensions front and rear, I'll have the winch on as soon as it gets here and the plow is on its way too. The only thing left for me to pickup is the brush guard that I want for the front. Thanks to all for their advice and support.

What gauge blade did you order?

The Glacier 1 raises a lot higher than my other plow did so I can stack more snow and do it easier. The old plow was almost impossible to back up onto my trailer with the plow on too. I raised the blade all the way and it still hit the ground when the back tires went up on the trailer and the front was still down on the ground. I thought I was going to get stuck loading it because of that. The mounting plate doesn't reduce your ground clearance and have things sticking out that can get bent. You can leave it on all the time.</end quote></div>
Can you back your current ATV and plow setup onto your trailer now? Thanks</end quote></div>
Yeah, with the Glacier plow I can. It's a tilt bed and with my old plow it would almost hang the front tires in the air when the plow slammed into the ground. I just looked at Rancher55's pics and can tell you the G1 doesn't raise as high but it works for me. Let us know how your RM3 works out.
If you're only going a few miles away to plow can you ride the ATV there? I used to do it all the time but it was only 1/2 mile away and all side streets, no main roads.
It you tow a Sportsman backward be sure to latch your front cargo box or you'll have to buy a new one. Been there, done that, when I first brought my '06 home.

Note sure what's going on with yours - mine lifts PLENTY high enough - see the pics on my Member Photo page. I have one with the plow lifted.

I ordered a new Glacier 2 plow from Breese Lawn and Garden today. I went thru their e-bay store, $402.00 delivered. (10% off using PayPAl). I have never used an ATV snow plow and can't wait to try. With my luck, I just assured So. Illinois won't get any snow for several years.
