Any suggestions

I have the same frame as you (I do not have a front rack).
I bought a sport/utility shift kit a while back and didn't have any abnormal tranny issues while plowing snow with my 2wd Sport 400. It wore down my plastic buttons in the secondary, but from what I have read, those wear down easily anyway.
For tires, I LOVE the Dirt Devil 2's on my DS. They bite on everything from dirt, grass, sand, mud, snow to pavement. They wear very slowly as well. If you get a lot of ice, Tire chains are the only way to go.
Winch:
I bought a kit from Cycle Country that mounts an electric lift motor directly on the plow frame - right behind the blade. It connects to the quad using a strap. Check it out here: http://www.cyclecountry.com/Pr...tabid/76/Default.aspx
It is the 2nd one down.
The cool part is, when I disconnect the plow, I only have 2 little brackets under the floorboards and the wiring still on the ATV. There is no winch or heavy bracketry left on the front of the quad.
