Water pump seal, right hand side in case, might also be a bad head gasket, would need to do a leak down test to know about head gasket, atifreeze in oil can make the crank bearings go out so I would definately find whats wrong and fix it before running it.

Water pump seal, right hand side in case. Where exactly is it. I don't see that part in the manual.

Given the earlier symptoms, and the fact that carb work, fuel pump etc didn't help... I'd say it wasn't the water pump but more likely the head gasket.

I took off the small black p;astic cover over the water pump & hauled everything out that was inside the cover & everything is pretty chewed up, I'd say the impeller wasn't even turning since the centre is chewed up that much.

To play it safe i'll change the head gasket too.

Well all is good now. Working perfectly. Had to replace the camshaft. An excellent experience. Thanks everyone. This forum rocks
