Default Polaris 800 Problem

I have a 2006 Polaris 800 and it just started giving me this problem. When you turn the key to start it does nothing. If you hold the key in the start postion and wiggle the shift lever it will start. Is there a bad ground or something. Any and all help appreciated.

it seems like the shift lever is not totally engauging in the park posititon. check ender the side cover and see if there is anything worn or anything like that, that would be keeping the lever from fully going into the park position. The atv has to be fully engauged in the park position in order for it to start ( just in case someone didn't know). good luck!

In case it just won't start some day...just hold in the reverse/overide button on the left handlbar, and your ATV will then start in any gear. The reverse overide button bypasses the park safety switch which is what is giving you trouble.

Default Polaris 800 Problem

i could be wrong but seems like i remember my 06 starting in any gear w/out doing anything. you said nothing is coming on when you turn the key on meaning no speedo pod lights or anything? make sure you have good god conections and the no corroded wires stopping power going thru.
