Default Build date Sportsman

Where do I find the month and year my 06 sportsman 700 efi was built? I think I once knew this???

Anyway at cheapcycleparts I am looking to get new tie rod assemblies and it states"

20 - TIE ROD ASSY. (1/2, 20X14.16) (INCL. 14, 19) (IF BUILT BEFORE 10/01/05)

20 - TIE ROD ASSY. (1/2, 20X14.16) (INCL. 14, 19) (IF BUILT AFTER 10/01/05)

Both parts have the same dimensions? Right? Why would this matter? Any info?

This site is great. Thanks.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just checked Polaris' dealer page and the tie rods sub up to the same number meaning they will fit either side, right or left.

So what does the build date have to do with it if both rods are the same size?

if he says it'll work then he means it doesnt matter what the build date is but just look at the sticker and it has the m/yr on it.

The build date can make a big difference on the part. if they changed a specific part mid year for whatever reason, the new and old ones may be extremely different.
