Hi all.

First time poster here and glad to see a great forum like this exists!

I own a second hand Polaris Sportsman 700 4x4 and just replaced tie rods and changed all the fluids, oil/filter, front gear case and rear gearcase. Upcoming project is to replace ball joints and the topic that brings me here...

I went to replace the transmission fluid and I found the fill plug but cannot find the drain plug!!

The manual said something about gaining access to it by removing the "prop shaft sheild"?

Can any one shed some light on this? I'm stumped!

Yup, that's the logical place to put it with the rest of the drain plugs for the engine and the likes with access holes in the frame but, unless I'm as blind as a bat, the transmission plug isn't... I'll double check it again.

 

I found it...

After using my drop light, I found the elusive plug.
It doesn't face down like the rest of the drain plugs but horizontally.
It uses a 7/16 box wrench for removal. There is a rectangular hole in the frame directly under the tranny to access it.
