thanks H.O. you are probably right about the metal getting brittle. now my only problem is that my small trailer is only 49.5" inside. Im not sure if 11" wide rears are gonna fit anyway, gonna be a tight fit. wheel spacers are totally out of the question. happy trails!!

Yeah IIRC mine sits right at 48.5..the 50.5 above was a joke about how tight the trail was..I need to measure it again after that ride it may have settled a little.
It's going to depend on which 11" tire you go with also. Another thing to consider is the track changes a bit with suspension movement..it gets narrower with the suspension extended,wider when the suspension is compressed... the difference isn't huge but is measurable.

 

My trailer is 48 1/2 so I can relate to your problem. It seems funny if I have to load the 850 on my 8 ft.x 12 ft. flat deck trailer but it's going to have to do.

Dave-have you bent the swaybar and removed the spacers and tried it on the trailer?

 

I have the same issue. I would like a new set of sneakers, but my trailer is only 48" wide. Stock just fits - and a new trailer is not in the budget. I would like to get new tires that maintain factory width.

 

What about the Duro Power Grip tires? I see they have 26x8x14 and 26x10x14 which is the same size as stock. Would these be something that would upgrade the stock tires yet keep everything the same as stock? I've been thinking when it is time to upgrade I would like stay as close to stock as I can also. What do you guys think? I know they are not a BH but I have read that those who have then sure seem to like them.

when i do the "swaybar mod" will their be any ill effects from riding double alot?

if i may i have a question How did you bend the swaybar and what did you mean by rolled it i have been staring at my swaybars for a while and just cannot seem to see how to bend that bar it looks prety beefy did you have to remove them first?

 

You are in luck..I had to bend it a little more today to clear the bighorns..so i too a pic.

You just need to disconnect the ends to bend it...it takes some force to bend I did it by hand before..this time used a cheater bar on the strap lever..
Don't worry about the strap popping off..I was concerned about that previously..it happened today..no big deal...well the strap ratchet did land on on of my cameras and ruin it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]..but no other harm done..wasn't as violent as I expected..
By rolling I mean bending the flat outboard edge of the stamped steel so the sharp edge isn't facing the tire...I only did that becasue initally I was concerned the bar might spread back out a little..it hasn't so I wouldn't worry about that..as long as you have clearance with the tires off the ground(ie suspension fully extended) you'll be fine..
