Default 1996 Polaris Xplorer 300

Died going across pasture, now no spark. Changed the plug. Anyone have the specs and know what to check first. Thanks.

I was going by what I was told about not having any spark. I checked yesterday and it is firing. Held my finger on the plug hole and seems to have enough compression. Cleaned the carb (looked good) and it backfired once or twice. Have a manual on the way. Any ideas what to check ? Thanks

Timing ?? Maybe a rough ride across the pasture jumped timing enough.
