4x4 kicks on when button is off?
Cant remember how much plates are, go on bike bandit to get an idea, have to completely dissasemble hub, good time to check wheel bearings and hilliard clutch to be sure they are rolling freely, armature plate is at the back against the magnet.If you find a bad bearing take it to your local parts store, they are a Timken bearing.

Since you have a manual,EASY job! Plates are about 8-10 bucks a piece.
Make sure you torque front hub nut to 12 foot pounds,just follow manual! Good luck
