Dude, do yourself a favor. Remove the glacier II from your X2 and sell it to some hapless yuppie on craigslist. Then buy a decent rugged after-market plow set up for yourself. One that has the pushtubes that go back to the middle of your frame. Regardless of how "solid" the glacier II looks, it is not. Mine was also on a an 07 500 X2, and the frame folded up like cheap lawn chair, resulting in the front of the atv's frame being pushed up into the bottom of the radiator. And this was NOT from abuse or heavy plowing, just one season of normal use that any plow should be designed to withstand.

Skunksquasher- when I look at the mount that is attached to the frame of my quad, it is comprised of a bar and has a heavy steel that almost looks like a skid plate. This steel unit does go back to 1/3 of the quad and is attached to the frame at three different points with bolts. Does this sound like the g2 mount? The plow has reminants of the glacier sticker. I dont know if there is another Glacier plow that has the quick disconnect. I guess I will know if the promark mounts up with it when I try to mount it.

I have owned 2 Glacier2 plow systems. My newer G2 has a thicker mounting plate than my previous one. My older one bent-up like a pretzel but my newer one held-up well last winter.

Maybe dealers (and more likely internet venders) are still stocked-up on the older, inferior systems. I don't know.

If you do a search here on our forum you will see many complaints and many topics about the G2. It's really too bad Polaris didn't try-out the product before sending it to market.

A local welding shop welded a reinforcement along the perimeter of the plate which solved the problem on my older G2 plow system.

If you want to clobber snowbanks and spin-around in circles, you'd better buy the old style Moose push-tube system! LOL!

They must have some really huge instruction sheets.

That's certainly a much better looking mount than the original POS G2. Of course, PoPo used all the money from the suckers who bought the original G2's to develop and build a decent mount.

Glad you got the better of the two.

Angry 2009 Ranger 700 HD with Glacier II plow and cab sucks

First the Glacier plow is a joke, a toy that breaks. The scraper steel at the bottom of the blade wore out pushing snow for 2 winters. Orange blade guides are too short to see them out the window of the cab. The blade frame is made out of the cheapest tubular steel causing them to both bend upward with little use. As the bolt holes are the same on top and bottom edges of the blade, I put the worn out scraper on top of the plow to reinforce the cracks I had to braze. A local welding shop supplied me with a good piece of steel to replace the factory scraper. I refuse to waste money buying another scraper from Polaris.

Secondly, I discovered that when you purchase the HD Ranger you do not get HD springs in front. That is an option that is needed when you put a cab and blade on it or when you intend to use it as an HD vehicle! The dealer installed everything and delivered it as a unit, not telling me they got cheap and didn't upgrade the springs. Thus, the blade couldn't be raised as much as it should and the front of the Ranger pointed down. This is like buying a one ton truck and finding it has half ton suspension when you go to use it; then find after complaining to the dealer, the dealer tells you it is your fault because you didn't specify you wanted the OPTIONAL one ton suspension. What a rip off. HD springs cost about $150 installed on a vehicle labeled HD.

Do not purchase a blade without power steering. You do a lot of steering when plowing snow. The steering is expensive and also a joke. It is not hydraulic, but electric. Mine failed and I see via the internet many other people have had theirs fail. Hidden relays and a computer are involved. Their is a diagnostic tool called "Digital Wrench" which only the dealer can purchase. The 2009 service manual trouble shooting chart and corresponding write-up do not agree on whether the steering fault light on the dash comes on or not when a 30 amp fuse is blown. There is no customer service factory rep to talk to, no number to contact anyone. Warranty seems to expire soon after you buy it.

Overall, I wouldn't give $10,000 for a new one that I paid $20,000 for. I won't be taken twice by ever purchasing another Polaris.

Instead of a Ranger, you need a Kubota RTV-X 1100 DIESEL side-by-side. It'll set you back about $18,800(incl rebate and discount) with cab, heat, and A/C, and power steering, and power dump, and wiper, and insulated vibration-free cab, and the list goes on! Cut your losses and move on!

Kubota Tractor Corporation - RTV-X1100

The Ranger is primarily for play.

Here's a review of the Bota- http://www.atv.com/manufacturers/oth...view-2236.html

I have a Glacier III, plenty strong for its intended purpose. You need anything stronger, then buy a tractor.

I found a 60 inch MOOSE County plow on Craigslist for 250 bucks with tire chains. It was like brand new. It is very heavy duty but they are not bull dozer baldes. I plow slow and very cautious. It's on a 2012 500 HO. Belly mount
