Default carb vs. efi

Should be two ways .....Open condition or Closed condition...........Can't see how exactly it can tell you how it is failing.

j
Just like say for example a car code for a mass airflow sensor.......can come up on a car
You could also have a code for a lean condition on bank 1 or 2
and have a vacuum leak somewhere(turn on many codes).........and a misfire code all at the same time....

I know a atv is not a car yet, but with every code there may be a problem not even directly with that component/sensor........Caper..........

You are correct..can't tell you exactly how it is failing and some things can trigger false indications..
It can tell more than just open and closed though..remember most of the sensors do not work on sraight battery voltage or 12v..

Just give it some time believe me it will come about sooner than alot of folk's think it will , just remember when the electronic ignition system first came out no one wanted it because most of the small shop's and the home auto machanic's didn't know how to work on them ; only the dealership had the equiptment and know how to repair them !

When i was still driving a truck for a living the shop manager bought a new chevy pickup , and the first thing he did was get a new distrubutor with the old point's and condenser ; but after a few year's when he saw everyone else who bought new electronic ignition only having to replace spark plugs for a tuneup he changed his mind !

And the same thing happened when dish brakes first arrived my cousin bought a 1968 Ford Thunder Bird from an uncle who talked him into this ride , the first week he had it the brakes started grinding and the only place that could or would replace them was a dealership ; total cost for the front brakes only $800.00 for new pad's and resurfacing the rotor's !

Now nobody want's drum brake's on anything , as for me i bought my first truck 1987 Chevy S10 Tahoe longbed with the 2.8 liter EFI ; everone who looked thought it was the sharpest S10 around untill they got close enough to see it was the 2.8 Liter engine and they would say oh it has the small engine and the one's who owned one with the 2.8 said they didn't have any power and the engine's wouldn't holdup !

They all said they would love it if it had the 4.3 liter engine , after i told them they had never riden in my truck ; when i took them for a test ride they changed their mind's they had only had experious with the carbed model never an EFI !

Everything i own now has EFI and i'm still driving the 87' S10 , i would've gotten EFI on my first Quad but the 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto 4x4 but they didn't offer it then ; i'll probally never own a quad with EFI because of the economy !

But believe me the day will come when all the new one's will be EFI !...........
