If the goggles w/glasses thing is an issue have you ever considered getting Lasik eye surgery? I used to wear glasses, was blind as a bat without them, and had bad astigmatism. Had the procedure done in 2001 and haven't looked back since. Vision is still 20/20 and the freedom of not having to wear glasses is great. Probably one of the best investments I ever made!

That's a good point..... my wife had Lasik done back in 2000 and she too has had perfect vision since. Like you she had the astigmatism and was blind as a bat....lol..... I used to play a game with her called "what is it?" where I would hold normal everyday items about 10 feet from her face and without her glasses she usually could not tell what it was.....

But I guess the Lasik is not for everyone....I actually watched my wife's operation live on TV as they were doing it, and it was far less creepy than it sounds. If I had bad eyes I'd do it.

Yeah before I got into ATVing I ran sleds a lot and my glasses drove me nuts. Had a friend do Lasik and raved about it. Shortly after that I went in and have not looked back since. Great for winter not fogging up, helmets for both sports, and water activities. Good Luck!

Switz....I have thought of that, but never acted. I also have a similar condition in my left eye, but was told they don't do laser on astigmatism. Interesting.

SJB, Appears as though the Polaris helmet is actually an AFX FX-37DS (dual sport). Reviews on motorcycle sites seem OK. Lots of wind noise complaints, but that's riding motorcycles on the highway. Gotta say the $100 helmet option is sort of concerning, but prob nothing to worry about. Wish is was Snell rated.....but then it wouldn't be hundred bucks either. If you don't want the black only Polaris version, there are tons of colors you can order online from AFX. It looks like it's got awesome visibility.

Check out the Shoei Hornet DS.....super nice. 4x the price though.

Yeah I had astigmatism (pretty slight though) and near sighted. Vision is great now.

they do look alike. color don't matter there's a guy about 20 miles away with a air brush/graphic shop. seen some race cars there that look sharp.maybe he could dress it up fairly cheap.

Confirmed that the Polaris helmet is made by AFX. Same exact helmet for same price. Might pay 3$ less for the black Polaris.

Hey FunRide, it would be worth the time to consult with someone else on the procedure. My astigmatism was bad and have had no issues. There are a lot of fly-by-night operations out there so make sure you consult with a local doc instead of an outfit that has them traveling all over the country. My ex had it done too and her eyes were so bad that she couldn't get contacts that could correct her sight to better than 20/40. No issues with her procedure and she had it done a few years before me.
