I have a 2002 magnum 325, I called RCR last spring and ordered his stage 1 kit. It was a snap to install. I just have issues tuning the carburetor with the new jet kit. I thought i had it perfect for where I ride at home, in summer, but when I went down to southern Illinois for hunting season it was completely out of tune. It starts up fine but when I got on the throttle it would sputter, then id let off and get back on the throttle and it would be better but still sputter. I don't know if it is to lean or to rich any ideas?

 

Sounds more like junk in a jet

 

could it be dirt in the tank that is getting thought the filter

 

Take the carb off and take the jets out and be sure they have nothing in them

 

before i installed the stage 1 kit it did not sputter, it started sputtering when i installed the jet kit?

when i get back home from school, i will take off the carb and see if the jets have anything in them and see if that works. if it doesn't i will give Rick a call and see of he has any suggestions of what to do.

 

anyone have an article about tuning a ATV, that i could read over to help me tune my quad properly
