Drain Plug????
#1
I changed all my oils tonight, and when I pulled the drain plug I saw one side was wore at an angle from something internal, and when I pulled the fill plug I found the same thing
Pics are attached
I'm a little puzzled on this one
Any thoughts

Silent chain rubbing drain plug. Had mine back to dealer they replaced year ago. Still did it after I changed fluids. Not under warranty now, going to Hatfields next week, that's when it will scatter.

I am really ****ED at the way they did the drain plug on the SP800. First time I tried
to change out my oil, I stripped the sucker. NOT HARD TO DO! Why make it an allen? Anyways, seeing this thread now do I have to worry about the inside of the drain plug.
Before I change it, should I be grinding it down? If so to what depth?
Thanks,
R'

Yea, it's a shame that they let something like this happen with all the engineer's we have in this industry. Something so simple, shorten the plug, do something. Anyhow, I change my trans fluid probably every 20-25 hrs because of this. Good luck to all

When I tried to change the oil for the first time on my 800 a few weeks ago the drain plug would not budge. I twisted a 6mm allen like a corkscrew, so I got a 6mm socket. With that I managed to twist what looked like a steel center out of the plug without the plug itself coming out. I took it to the dealer for the oil change and told them what had happened. They claimed they had never seen that problem before but, they got the old one out and replaced it with a new one even though it was out of warrantee.
