Default Very little speed

My 95" 300 2x4 seems to be a little slow. Does anyone know how fast this machine is supposed to be? I just picked it up two months ago and had her out for the afternoon and she didn't seem to get very fast. It has a snappy take off but still lacks the top end speed, I think my foreman is faster.

Any response would be appreciated.

i say if (guessing) if it does around 50, that would be good for a 300. imo if its real doggie or seems like it looses speed on top end, check the secondary clutch buttons to see if there worn out.

I took her apart and the belt looks pretty good, that might not being saying much (Don't know sh*t). It engaged well and the belt was really tight in the drive end. The clutch moved in pretty fast to engage. I will be taking her out this weekend so I will try and get a speed comparision to my other wheeler.

really hard to compare to another wheeler and not one just like it. how is the belt sitting inthe secondary clutch(thats the back big one). it should be sitting a little bit above the sheeves. when you say its tight, how do you mean tight. when its at rest and disengaged(shut off is safer) and you were to push down on the top of the belt towards the clutch center, how much does it go down. this is called belt deflection.

I would have to say that in the secondary clutch the belt is pretty tight, that is when it isn't running. It is a little bit above the sheeves and it doesn't slip or move when I push down on the belt or when I hold the clutch and pull the belt it wouldn't move either.

How loose should the belt be in the primary clutch (Smaller one with the spring)?

if its a non ebs clutch, you would be able to push down on the center of the belt between the 2 clutches at least 1 1/2 ". imo.

My father used to have one of those years ago, and at best I would say it would hit 50mph.......usually between 47-50 was where the speedo used to hover when pinned.
