HELP!! Scambler 400 problems!!!!

And the stator spins a bit also, throwing timing out of whack. I "had" 3 of the '99 Scramblers 400's, and if you don't line up the timing marks, those damn 400's wouldn't start. Extra oil in the counter balancer isn't the problem, has an overflow tube on it, and only takes 4-5 ounces of oil in the first place, your issue is definitely in the stator/electrical area

yup its the only other thing that needs to be checked...
ill take out the flywheel 2day

hey guys thanks for all the help it was the flywheel key it broke i put a new one on already started right up
but a its not running right doesnt idle at all and back fires a bit
have to have it half throttle to start it
and very slow throttle response (bogging)

sounds like the carb needs to be cleaned and or adjusted. you said you found oil in the crank which isn't good i would think seal might be bad on crank. It will suck counterbalance oil into piston and make it run like that also. What does your exhaust look like does it smoke alot?

broken skirt on the exhaust side from the backfire also maybe? would that cause this?
