what color spring is it? personally iwould just stay with the same one you got, im not certain but there are many combos that work awsome together so if you change the primary spring to a different color then you would change the secondary spring.
there are a few guys here that can give a dirrect answer on that. and you dont need to remove the secondary to get the belt off. just pull the belt up and rotate the secondary towards the back of the machine it should come off , mine does real easy that way.

I would replace the spring while it is apart I know it helps wake up a sled when you replace a worn rear spring. let me know if it solves your problem Im on the same path with mine, however my motor has a few issues to iorn out first.
