Default anyothers with banging on the 700's or 800's sportsmans??

2007 Sportsman 800 EFI, brand new leftover, 12 miles...Does any one else have the banging in the tranny when they let off then hit the throttle or when the throttle is feathered?? Sounds like u-joints on pick-up trucks... A thanks to OPT, he says its normal. I'll have to live with it ... I'm just looking to find out how many others have this going on...So far I'm up to 2 including mine...

Ya man mine did it from day 1, I also ask myself what the heck is wrong with my new atv back in 07. We purchased 3 of them at the same time and they all did it, going downhill slow or letting off the trottle at lower speeds. This is normal and never had any issues with the trans or anything else in the power train. I know it sounds like crap but I've learned to live with it. It still hauls the mail.

Hah when I bought my polais 600 a few years ago I called the dealer wher I bought it. I said I had alot of slack in my rear driveline and I want to bring it in. I could hear the young kid on the phone laugh and yell to his buddy in the back " hey this guy is complaining about driveline noise on a polaris" he said they all do it and it would be ok. Long story short 1700 miles trouble free. Still cant ever get used to it though. But its been the best quad ive ever owned.

The 700 that I used to have did that also, seems to be a Polaris thing.

Default Banging

My 05 and 09 800's both do it too. It's not an issue but be sure to check for driveline wear occassionally. When the time comes to change u-joints get them off ebay. Way cheaper and they come with zerk fittings!

You can add me to the list too. Hate the noise but love the power!
