12" on the rear is no problem. Front tie rod issue clearance is the issue ith 9" wide tires. I went with 25s due to that clearnce issue.

Well I'm going with the Maxxis Zilla. Ordering up the 27x9x12 fronts and 27x11x12 rears. Just can't beat the price and the light weight design. 20.3 pounds for the front tires and 23.4 pounds for the rear tires. It was a tough decision between the Swamplites and the Maxxis Zilla. Anyways I'll be sure to leave some feedback once I get them and mount them.

Default Maxxis Zillas

Hey guys just wondering what the lowest air pressure you can run in these tires without them popping off the bead. Here are the specs: 27x9x12 and 27x11x12 on stock rims on a 07 Sportsman 500. Just want to know so when I test them this weekend I can try some different pressure in the snow.

In the snow, if you not riding over logs and other obstacles that would put pressure on the sidewalls, if your like me and just ride around smoother trails, and plow and cruise around fields, you could probably get away with 3 pounds, but I usually keep mine close to 5, but it depends on the rims and tires, and all kinds of other variables

Blackwaters, how was the fit in the front, any tie-rod issues with the stock rims?

Keep us posted on how they work in deep snow & let me know if it's a light or wet snow too please.

Thanks,

Dale

Supposed to get a snow storm over the next few days, so it should be a good test. I will have pictures of clearance and everything else after the weekend hopefully.

Default Update Tires Are On...

The test ride went well I didn't really notice any power loss with the 27 inch Maxxis Zillas, but they are a light tire. Wheeled in a foot plus of fresh snow up here in Northern Minnesota. Fun times didn't spin a tire going across the field in low just crawling. Pics to come...
