Coolant leak from billet cool head...

I am putting the Scram back together and upon filling up the coolant I noticed a leak through the small screw at the top of the head. I also noticed a type of groung wire that goes under the screw too. I tried a washer but it still leaks.

What to do? (must be something really simple)

You talking about the thermostat plug? Wrap the threads with teflon tape.

Did you put a small amout of 'earl on the O-rings to help them seal?

Nope, I am talking about the small hex screw on top of the head. I think it is for letting the air out when filling the coolant. The thermostat plug isn't leaking...yet.

What is Earl and which O-rings?

'earl=oil. Inns't your head sealed to the cylinder wito O-rings?

Hmm... Hot Seat? I thought you had an HPD which threw me because there is no screw on the top of there's.

Nope...HPD trail porting and pipe but HotSeat cool head. It no longer leaks and is coming along slowly but surely. It's that darn 39mm carb that's hard to adjust. The slide feels restrictive and it doesn't seem to go all the way up and out of the "tunnel". (I know...bad mecanical terms)

A400L, Do you know anything about adjusting the oil injection? I plan to pre-mix a bit but keep the oil injection.

The throttle cable "splitter" ( the flat, grey molded plastic thing in the throttle cable ) doesn't allow enough travel to retract the slide completely. A single throttle cable and an oil block off will cure that.
You'll have to adjust both the adjuster in the cable at the handlebars, and unscrew the cable adapter on top of the carb to make more adjustment. The jam nut required is 6mm X .75 pitch, and it was a bear to find one. I pulled the one off of the choke cable as a temporary fix to get it running.
If you want to keep the oil injection, be sure to readjust the pump according to the owners manual
I would definately add some pre-mixed lube to help keep it alive.
