want to put larger tires on my 550 xp and a clutch kit but can't do both at the same time so would it cause a problem to put the clutch kit in first with the stock tires and then get my tires later when i have the money?

 

i would doubt you will have any issues by putting a clutch kit in before tires. it will just perform differnt w/ the kit in to help w/ power loss from oversize tires. imo

 

What size tires are you planning to put on? If you are only going to 27" you probably don't need the clutch kit. Any bigger though and I would say the clutch kit first then tires.

 

probally 27 grim reapers fronts are 27 lbs and rears are29 which i think are not only larger but a lot heavier than stock

 

The answer will vary depending on what brand of clutch kit you go with. Also depends on each particular model because some machines will have bigger differences in clutching between stock size tires and oversize tires. On your machine through EPI you can order the stock tire kit and run it that way until you get the bigger tires. You should only have to change one thing on your machine to make it work with the bigger tires as long as your staying in the 27-28" range. If you go bigger it will take a bigger change.

 

I would go with tires, and then if you have a noticeable power loss, get springs, or a whole clutch kit if it's bad
