What size tires do you have on your Sportsman 500

I like to stay with 25" so I lose no top end or acceleration, I did go to a much more aggressive Mud Lite XL tire which improved traction without vibrating out my teeth filling like the XXL Mud Lites would of.

As long as you go with 9" in the front I don't think you will have any issues using stock rims,My 27" Zillas are not true to size, they only measure about 26 5/8" in height which rim width with plays a role but mine is a 1999 model and there might be some differences in a 07.You will like the Zillas

i put my 27" itp 589's from my 800 onto my brothers 500... how do you guys wit 500's enjoy riding with tires this heavy? it was no fun to me, felt sluggish and numb... of course i am used to the low end torue of the 800 but still.... id stick with the stock size tires with a 500.
I had the 489's on my 800 when we swapped... WOW... lol roll along at 10-15mph nail the gas and be careful not to flip it over backwards...just insane how much power those 589's soak up. The 489's ride so much better though... dont look as good but they ride so smooth

The 27" Zillas are light tires compared to others,I weighed the steel wheels with stock tires vs my Zillas and the difference was only + a few pounds,I could not tell any power difference with the Zillas but I can with my 28" Outlaws, after adding the EPI clutch kit I'm happy,it keeps the rpm up at low speeds, I have no problems spinning over the tires on hard pack or the mud,a proper set up clutch will make a huge difference with larger tires on any Polaris or belt driven atv
