Default scrambler 500 rear axel removal problems

trying to replace bearings in the rear axel of a 1999 polaris scrambler and having problems removing either the sprocket side hub assymbly or the brake side hub assymbly. i took the outer snap ring off and from what other threads have said just slide off either hub assembly and work on the axel nuts that they slide over but i'm having probs cus i'm not able to fit a puller to either hub and pounded the crap out of it and still nothing.. am i missing something???

if you've gotten the snap ring off . you'll need to use a chisel or something to get behind the aluminum nut covers(where the foam gasket is) and push them off.use plenty of penetrating oil. The axle nuts are mot likely rusted in place also so use a bunch more pen.oil and start wrenching them off. if you don't have wrenches large enough for the nuts, use pipe wrenches.
