94 400 4WD engagement Problem

the tension (i think thats what they're called) nuts and will require a different torque figure then regular castle nuts. What i did was measure how much torque it took to thread that nut and then added 12 ft lbs to it. worked for me.
make sure you have enough fluid in the hub... make sure you have your keyway installed.. make sure your key is not broken... mine was but that should have been obvious when you had it apart. make sure the coil has the correct clearance. make sure the coil has power. the wires are very thin and you could have ripped one when you tore it apart.
the wheel can turn in the air just from the friction of everything being assembled... mine did this slightly even with the 4wd switch off... the 4wd system is actually very simple... the armature plate gets magnetized by the coil and then "drags" being connected to the roller cage this drag then makes the rollers roll up over the "cam" of the hilliard clutch jamming the rollers against the outer portion of the hub
