Default 2004 Sportsman front Diff

So..another diff thread. 1st time I have had front diff issues...Here is what I have going on. Changed fluid a month ago and checked it again today..still full (yes correct fluid used). I was out plowing and when I back up the 4 wheel drive works but going forward it does not...After sitting there for a while backing up, i manged to get the front to lock back in again and it seemed to be fine down the road. I noticed this problem last time I was plowing but it seemed to come around after the first time I switched off the AWD and shut it down (it was also -40 out) so I thought she was just flat out cold. Any ideas? Checked fluid level, fine....checked omhs @ the harness and they are within the range the book states..could this be a warped armature plate? Like I said...works every time in reverse...just hit and miss all of a sudden going forward...

If your going in there replace the armature plate and check cage for cracks and wear. OPT
