Actually I technically live in Lacombe but it's soo close might as well say Slidell, yeah I had a few jobs to do on Poydras and in Metairie today talk about traffic!

voodoo I am glad to hear that is the reasoning behind the symbol you have, always be proud of your heritage. And R. from what I know the patch is to show the mixing or combining of the union and confederate forces to make one unit. The 29Th ID is a very old and proud unit. It is to bad that it is only a National Guard unit now. I retired with a little over 21 years of service this past Aug. but some things stay with you for life, like when you have over 140 combat logistical missions (2 tours) outside the wire and the guys and gals of the Old Stonewall Brigade had my back all the way. Some things are close to a mans heart, My wife and children, the American Flag, and that combat patch are at the top of my list.
