I would like to get a little more power out of my Sportsman 500, but I do not want it to be extremely loud. HAs anyone found a good slip on exhaust that they can recommend? I sold my Predator and don't want a race bike, just a little more getti up! Suggestions??

 

Try HMF. I think they make a quiet core exhaust that will give a little bump. Run a K&N filter too. Won't be really noticable though. Are you looking for more pulling power-grunt? If so, then a clutch kit will make a big difference. Exhaust alone won't do it.

 

Ok, I'll have to call HMF. Their website doesn't list 500's just 550 and 850. I am looking for a better throttle response and know that Polaris really tames down their machines. I do have a K&N filter, so I am hoping the pipe will give me a little more life. Thanks for the info!

 

I have a big gun full system, it isn't what I would call loud, but it has a nice rumble to it, I got mine off ebay for under $300, it's a full system with all stainless pipe.

I have a Big Gun exhaust system on my 02 SP 500 HO, not real loud but throaty, I got a heal clicker clutch kit and mod my air box for more air and ended up using the max carb jet, and has at least 1/4 more power maybe more. My dad has an 04 SP 500 HO and my brother inlaw has an 08 SP 500 HO FI, mine still has more power. The exhaust really didnt make a whole lot of power on its on but with the air box mod changed all that.
