all 800's are efi.

the difference is a different cam and different fuel mapping i believe.

i think my local dealer has the 5 yr warrenty at like 800 if i remember correctly, 1500 is way to high.

All 800's are efi as previously stated, HO's have a different head, cam and pistons along with different ecu calibration and clutching. I've not ridden an HO but i've been pretty happy with the power out of my non-HO 800, although there supposedly is a noticeable difference in the two, around 5-6hp. I don't believe the 2010 800's are HO's.

I would lean towards passing on the warranty at $1500, but if you don't feel comfortable working on it yourself maybe it would be worth it? If the warranty was half of that, or maybe even 8-900 I'd say to do it, just for the peace of mind, but that's just my opinion and it's not my money..... I'd say do what makes you feel comfortable.

i have had both 800's and there is a little differnce in hp mostly in mid range. personaly i wouldn=t buy the ext. warranty but thats just me. i would read the fine print to see what it does NOT cover before you buy. i think you would be suprised on what it doesn't cover in some cases.
