99% sure thats what I'm dealing w/. Anybody know a good place to get a cheaper stator? I only gave $500 for the bike as the previous owner gave up trying to figure it out. I have continuity to ground on all three legs from the stator, so time to replace it.

you could try ricky stator .com or rm stator.com At rm stator you can send in your stator and they can rebuild it for around $150 give or take from what I've seen on there website, don't know much about about rickystator but have heard good reviews. Perhaps some others will chime in with their comments on a place for reasonably priced stators.

I unhooked my ground wire at the voltage regulator and it is still over charging. I am going to tie all three lights together to draw enough current so the battery doesn't overcharge. I have been running this way since last August.

If you can do it and get away with it, so be it. Just a side note on the stator overcharging. My local popo dealers mechanic told me that an overcharging stator could, but not always fry other electrical components from voltage spikes or even destroy a new battery in a short time. Do you really want to take that risk? My suggestion would to be fix it the right way so there's no worrys. Not to mention your other components could get exspensive in a hurry. At the very least I'd get it rebuilt for cheap, rather than do nothing at all. If it's not broke don't fix it, and if it is broke fix it right. Just my 2cents

I'm also living with the same problem for one year for my sp500HO 2006. I already replaced controller module (4011110) with replacement (2203348). I cannt run lights for more than 30min and use winch no more than 2 times, my battery runs emty. At high rpm to high charge, at low rpm, to low charge. Unfortinatelly, no changes. I'm thinking if the problem is in stator or coil pulser. If I change pulser, its cheaper. Or I should change both of them?

Test the legs on your stator to see if they are running properly
