Default Warrior electrical system overcharging battery?

Just wondering if this is a known issue with Warriors in particular, or maybe quads in general. I don't remember having any problem like this with my Recon, but, the electrical system seems to be hot, overcharging the battery to the point of having to add water about every 4th ride or so???? Or maybe that is normal maintenance?? Do they come from the factory hot??? Maybe it has nothing to do with the electrical???

Could there be another problem I should be looking for? Defective battery? I dunno?????

Thanks for any help.

Hey Jakal

No, mine hasn't ever given me any trouble as far as performance, just seems odd to me to have to add water so often....If you never have to add water to your cells, it leads me to believe there is something wrong with mine, somewhere....just don't know where???? Hmmm...(scratching head here)

hook a voltmeter across your battery terminals with the engine running. if it shows over 14 volts then you could have a problem with your rectifier-regulator.

Thanks Hubbard!

Using Distilled water helps keep corosives out of the battery, same if you run it in a radiator. I would guess that your battery is bad. Mine sat for a few years before I bought it and all I had to do was charge it once. I may have added water to it that first time but its still full after a year of use.
