Default sputtering/dieing 07 sportsman 500

Well for the past year my 07 sportsman 500 EFI deluxe has had a ver small sputter/miss at low speeds/rpms crawling around... as soon as you give it a bit more gas it clears out, anything above 10 or so mph was fine...

In the past two weeks this has gotten so bad that i can't (afraid to) even drive it now. It has barely enough power to go from a stop unless you are over 1/2 throttle and really getting into it... sometimes if you blip the throttle on off on off with it at 1/4 or more throttle it will get going... It idles rough at 1800 rpms, it varies 20-30 or so rpms intermittently. All this has been intermittent though... i drove it for an hour, then turned it off, let it sit for 20 minutes. got back on it , started it, and it died. then started it again and it idled real rough, i gave it gas and made it go, but at under 10 mph it was bucking me and missing real bad.

Things i did to it lately:
new plug
new oil/filter
i have been running 87 octane in it, hoping to help it i put in 89... it didnt help at all
new air filter

none of this helped... and it keeps getting worse...

When i floor it, i am just as fast as a 2010 sportsman 500 (carb) and it runs great at full throttle.. however out of 5 runs, he did win twice... and thats when my problems had got worse.

what do i need to replace?

also, how do you tighten up the brakes on this machine... my friends quad stops A LOT quicker then mine and the handle seems a lot stiffer, mine moves more. The brakes also squeek when driving slow, however they appear fine, rotors feel good also.

Carb cleaning is what I would try first. I was thinking you may have the worn cam syndrome but it would not run good at full throttle if that was the case.
