Exclamation 2002 sportsman no spark

My quad died all of a sudden the other day. pulled the plug and seen it was fouled with carbon buidup, also seemed to have a weak spark. I replaced it and it seemed fine for a couple days and then it died again today. Pulled the plug again and now there's no spark. I noticed my ignition coil had a crack so I replaced it but it didn't resolve it, still no spark. I looked into the casing for the stator and everything is rusted up so I'm figuring it's the stator, but it could be the CDI box I guess. I have no idea what to test for ohms to verify that the stator is no good. Can someone giude me in the right direction before buying parts I may not need.

Stator is much more likely than a CDI, water and crap gets pass the pull cord recoil cover rope hole and puts a beating on the stator and other parts. You might get lucky and its just you pulse coil that needs cleaning .adjusting or replacing.

Hopefully it could be that easy but do you happen to know what the gap spacing on the coil should be? I also can't find the resistance amount and on which wire to test my stator.

I just gaped my pulse coil as close as possible without rubbing the fly wheel, turned out OK. Not sure how to test the stator never ran into that yet.

I will try that because it does have a slightly big gap, but I got an online manual for the quad and it says the ohms should read for between the red and the green wire it should be 1.6 ohms and I'm getting 3.8, and it also says that between the black/red and green wires it should be 446ohms when I check it my gage reads the same as when I'm not touching any wires. Does that tell me that my stator is gone? The manual says that if any of the ohms reading fall out of spec then to replace the stator. The pulse coil tested good also at 98ohms (should have been 97 acording to the manual).
