What do you know about this older wheeler? I may purchase one, which seems to be in mint condition with only 796 miles on it.

 

I bought one last year, pretty much the same milage and condition. Great machine but there are couple of common problems, speed sensor in the right front rotor goes bad. Exhaust manifold Y pipes crack and you have make certain to keep the front diff fluid fresh or the cahge breaks. Also add the Sportsmann 800 air intake and dual header exaust header pipe if your y pipe is cracked, good performance upgrade

 

i also just bought one last year and while i havent had any of the above problems i do know they had some trouble with the original water pump cover. If it has a metal cover that goes over the water pump than it is right. the original design was all plastic and they warped and leaked. Also if you do a search for 2003 polaris sportsman you should fined a lot of info.. dont get to scared off by what you find though because you have to remember that most people only come to the sight if they have problems..
